Why MS Word 07?

Why does MS Word 07 have Calista as the default font? It doesn’t look all that cool and it’s tiny. Especially when the default size for the default font is 11. Eleven. Why not 12? Callista is small at the get go and then we are stuck with a tiny size. Who was in charge of this decision?

What should it be? Okay, I know that what I prefer may not be cool or even that pretty but I’d go with boring, good ‘ol fashion Times New Roman size 12. Easy to read. That’s good. Right? Also takes up more space on a page then skinny Calista, and what Junior in HS doesn’t want to grab as much page real estate as possible? Also, the MLA style guide calls for Times New Roman, 12. Guess what most teachers require? Yep. Times New Roman, 12. Are listening MS? Probably not.

I digress. Let’s move on to the big one — spacing. Double spacing. Okay MS why oh why did you decide that Multiple is a good choice for line spacing? And to add insult to injury why do you add 6pt (whatever that is) when I press the Enter key? Just curious. Just asking.
